Local Priorities - Speeding Traffic Update - Community Speed Watch Event held at North Rd, Glossop

Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch Event 

Glossop SNT (PCSO Buller) and 3 volunteers from the Hadfield Community Speed Watch Team completed an event on North Rd, Glossop this afternoon, Tuesday 14th July - it was held there between 11.55 am  and 12.55 pm. 

The speed limit on this road is 30 mph. On this occasion 241 vehicles went by the team during the times the event took place and  today none were recorded speeding. Speeding might be an issue that you don’t consider serious, however it is one of the fatal four. The fatal four are the four offences which contribute to serious collisions. The other fatal four offences are drink or drug driving, using a mobile device whilst driving or not wearing a seat belt.

Speeding is one of the local communities Policing Priorites for this area. The North Rd location was identified by local residents and councillors (by using our Community Voice Surveys and when our engagement events take place) as an issue because of Speeding.

So we'd like to say thank you to the community from Glossop for identifying their concerns regarding speeding, particularly at the above location and for their continued support in promoting road safety in the Glossop area.
